1992 Duke of York Royal Military School Dover
475 boys, between the ages of 11 and 18, attend the Duke or York's school. The school, which is wholly boarding, offers a high standard of academic, social and sporting facilities which include a science block, extensive computing and Information technology resources, technology and engineering workshops, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and athletic track.
The school offers a broad academic education in addition to the social benefits gained from boarding school life and an extensive programme of sport and character building activity. The majority of pupils, leaving at 18, proceed to degree courses at universlty, polytechnic and college sites.
The marching band, on display, sustains tradition inherited from the original foundation school The members on display are all volunteers between the ages of 13 and 18; they participate in the band in addition to all the actlvities of a schoolboy's life; they will have been in class this morning and will be in prep this evening. The Band's display in Connaught Park in the 1992 Dover Pageant ends with the School March.
