     Lies in the heart of the farming country of Alberta. It was called after Dover,
        England by a Mrs H.Lee who named the new community after her home town
        when she open a post office in about 1910.

        Dover Delaware is capital of the First State of the United States of America.
         It is a fine modern town set in a rich legacy of the past. Its heart is still the
         historic Dover Green defined by William Penn in his original building order.
        The statesmen, lawyers, merchants and professional men who helped to build
        first a state, and then a nation, lived around the Dover Square. Dover's
        population " within city limits" is 7,5OO but this swells to over 17,000 within a
        three mile limit. At Dover is a giant USA Air Force base, the largest air cargo

        Over 3,000 people live in Dover Florida. The Town was once called Sydney,
        then Cork. It became Dover in 1890. It is noted for agriculture, phosphate
        mining and the packing of frozen shrimps.
  9. DOUVRE FRANCE
        The Romans called Dover 'Dubris', and the French version is Douvres. On
         D-Day, in June 1944, 3rd,8th, 9th and 27th Commando units landed on the
         Normandy beaches and travelled the short distance to Douvres.

        Dover Georgia is one of the smallest Dovers in the world and is located in the
        Deep South State of Georgia. This charming village, without even a post
        office, has a population of fewer than 200 people. Some suggest it was named
        after Thomas Dover who received an early grant of land. Dover stands not far
         from the lovely and historic Ogeethee River which runs halfway across the
         state into the broad Atlantic Ocean.

        Steeped in romantic history Dover New Hampshire was first settled by
         English Colonists in 1623 and was named by one of these early settlers from
         Dover, England. Known as the Garrison City it is situated on a peninsula
         between two rivers and is a delightful blending of the traditional New England
         background and a typical American city. Dover New Hamphire has a
         population of 20,000. From its original settlement the growth of the town has
         been one of exploitation of natural resources. Towards the end of the 19th
         century it was a centre for textiles and shoemaking. One of the oldest of U S
         newspapers Forster's Daily Democrat is published there.  Events

        Set in some of the most beautiful country in the USA at nine hundred feet
        above sea level and is known as "the Gateway to the Muskingham Lakes". A
        prosperous and progressive city with a fine balance of industrial, commercial
        and agricultural activity, it has a population of just over 11,300. Incorporated
         in 1842, its first mayor was Joseph Slingluff. The Indian name for the area is
        Tuscarawas.

On 12th June 2005 at the Installation of the Lord Warden, mother Dover and all 43 other Dovers were carried by children from Dover schools.
There are three communities named Dover in Wisconsin. One is the Town of Dover in Dover Township, Buffalo County, with an approximate population of 482. The second is Dover in Emery township, Price County. This community is unincorporated, it doesn't have any government office, or post  office. It is probably a few houses or a farm. The third is also a town, Dover in Dover township, Racine County. The population is about 3,756.

Dover, Oklahoma, is a small town of approximately 400 people and is 41 miles north west of Oklahoma City in Kingfisher County. Oklahoma stands not far from the Cimarron River on the historic Chisholm Trail. Oklahoma means "red people" and was so called by Allan Wright, Principal Chief of the Choctaw nation of Native Americans, in the 19th century.

Dover, Pennsylvania, is on the road between New York and Carlisle. In 1752 a man called Graves opened a hostelry for passing travellers. 12 years later Jacob Joiner purchased 200acres of land and laid out the town. The community was generally called Joner's town until 1813 when the U S Mail established a post office and adopted the name of Dover. A population of 1,000 people with a long tradition in weaving and the manufacture of cloth. In the early days, Dover was renowned for its weaving and many people travelled for many miles to buy cloth from the thread machines.
